Students and parents are encouraged to attend Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) workshops to get assistance in completing the free application.

Senior Parents - FAFSA Information

Dear Senior Parents,

If you have not already completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for your senior child, it is very important that do so today.  You must complete the FAFSA application in Florida prior to May 15, 2013. The deadlines to complete FAFSA are earlier at some State of Florida higher education institutions. Please check with the institution of your choice for this information. Also, be aware that the Florida Bright Futures scholarship now requires a completed FAFSA and the student to complete community service hours-- 75 hours for the Medallion Bright Futures scholarship and 100 hours for the Academic Bright Futures scholarship. ALL community service hours MUST BE COMPLETED AND TURNED IN TO YOUR CHILD’S GUIDANCE COUNSELOR BEFORE GRADUATION DAY. No community service hours can be accumulated or turned in after graduation day. Please contact your child's guidance counselor if you have general questions. College Goal Sunday!

What:             All Duval County public high school seniors and their families can receive assistance with tax preparation for the information needed to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The district partnered with the United Way’s Real$ense Tax Preparation Program to provide free tax preparation for families earning $57,000 or less. Fees apply to families earning more than $57,000.
