Our .ME Scholarship is all about YOU!

Do you have what it takes to be a Go Daddy Scholar? We want to know how

the Internet or Internet technology (e.g., websites, blogs, forums, social media,

etc.) has helped you during the course of your studies. Have you used the

Internet to advance your athletic, artistic or intellectual pursuits? How do you

envision benefitting from it through college and beyond? Tell us in 500 words

or less and you can become one of 10 Go Daddy Scholars to receive $10,000

for your college tuition.

Submission Start: January 9, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. (PT)
Submission End: March 30, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (PT)
Winners: Announced on or around April 25, 2012

What do I need to qualify? •A current GPA of 3.0+ (copy of transcript required).

•An ACT score of 21+ or an SAT score of 1,000+ (proof of ACT/SAT score required).
•A 500-word essay describing how technology has contributed to your successes and why you think you should be a Go Daddy scholar.
•References from two people (family members excluded).

College Goal Sunday!

What:             All Duval County public high school seniors and their families can receive assistance with tax preparation for the information needed to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The district partnered with the United Way’s Real$ense Tax Preparation Program to provide free tax preparation for families earning $57,000 or less. Fees apply to families earning more than $57,000.

When:            February 12, 2012, 1 to 4 p.m. Florida State College at Jacksonville (Advanced Technology Center-downtown), 401 W. State St., Jacksonville, FL 32202

SAT Prep Community Ed Classes


When: Math on Tuesdays from 3-4pm starting on 3/6/12 for 8 weeks.  Critical REadin gand Writing on Thursdays from 3-4pm starting on 3/8 for 8 weeks.

Where: Math with Ms. Murrell in P10
            Critical REading and Writing with Ms. Scott in D8

Price: $65 for one section or $95 for both sections (check or cash)

Registration: Come to the main office any Monday through Thursday evening from 4pm-7pm by 2/19/12.
                   Space is limited to the first 20 students.

It's Her Business 2012

7th Annual Teen Entrepreneurship Conference

It’s HER Business

*Cost: FREE (Breakfast, Lunch, and Materials provided)

· Must be 15-18 years of age and enrolled in a Clay, Duval or St. Johns County Public or Private High School to attend.

· Both Forms must be e-mailed/scanned to: mhague@unf.edu, faxed to: (904) 620-2567 OR mailed to: Marice Hague, Small Business Development Center at UNF; 12000 Alumni Drive; Jacksonville, FL 32224 by Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

· Only a limited amount of students will be accepted. Limit of 3-5 students from the same school.

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from UNF.

The It’s HER Business Teen Entrepreneurship Conference is a one-day conference for girls ages 15-18 enrolled in high school.

It is designed to encourage financial literacy and help girls learn about starting businesses and managing personal finances through interactive games and hands-on activities.

We use successful local business women as conference facilitators/mentors to share their ideas and experiences with the participants.

This event brings parents, students, school administration, and women business owners together in one forum and has so far exposed over 600 young women to a whole new world of opportunities.

The Flowering Tree Sale is an annual event sponsored by Greenscape of Jacksonville, a local nonprofit organization, whose mission is to enrich Jacksonville by the planting, promotion and protection of trees. Please join us in the parking lot at the N.E. corner of Emerson Street and Philips Highway (3100 Emerson St.). Volunteers are needed to help load trees

(3 gallon) into cars and trucks

(Community service hour credit will be given).
