Florida School Counselor Association (FSCA) Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $500

Applicants must be high school seniors, planning to begin college in Summer or Fall of 2016.

Essays must be 1-page, single-spaced, and address the following topic: How has your school counselor made a difference?

ALL essays must be submitted with a FSCA Essay Competition Entry Form.

Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Jacksonville Lodge 5-30 Community Service Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: $500

Requirements: Must attend a community college or college, be a full-time student in college, demonstrate outstanding commitment to a specific community service effort, demonstrate to make Jacksonville a better community, children of FOP members are not eligible.

Continental Societies Scholarships

Scholarship Amount: Varies

Requirements: Must be a senior about to attend college, accepted by a 4 year college, write an essay, submit a letter of recommendation from the Principal or counselor, official transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, class rank, GPA, copy of college acceptance letter, and 3 letters of reference. Beaches Educational Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship Amount: up to $10,000

Requirements: Upcoming Duncan U. Fletcher High School graduates seeking a higher education at an accredited institution (community, state, private, or other) are eligible for the Beaches Educational Foundation scholarship. This scholarship is based on financial need, merit, and the ability to be successful in a post-secondary course of study. The scholarship will be awarded in an amount up to $10,000.

Bank of America Student Leaders Program

The program helps students gain a greater understanding of how nonprofits create impact in the community and helps develop them as the next generation of community leaders through two components:

·         A summer eight-week paid internship with a nonprofit organization selected by the bank. This internship is designed to provide opportunities for the students to develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on work experience, while raising their awareness of community issues addressed by their Host Organization. 

·         The week-long, all-expense paid Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. from July 10-15, 2016. Conducted in partnership with the Close Up Foundation, the Summit introduces students to aspects of civic, social and business leadership and provides them with knowledge and skills they will use throughout their life to create positive community change.

Navy Wives Clubs of America Scholarship

This scholarship awards 30 scholarships each year in the amount of $1,000 to $1,500.

- Dependent child (natural born, legally adopted, or stepchild) of an active duty, retired with pay or deceased ENLISTED member of the US Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. 
- Must have a valid dependent ID card (US Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card)
- Show a need for financial assistance
- Have a 2.5 GPA
