NAACP’s Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) is a program for students of African descent ,who are US citizens, enrolled in
grades 9-12, amateurs in their categories’ of competition. The program is designed to be a learning experience, enrichment, mentoring, opportunities to connect with leaders in the community with scholarship opportunities and

the chance to compete at the national level in Las Vegas.

Applications are due by January 10, 2014
·
There is a Student Orientation for those accepted on
January 25, 2014
·
This is a national competition, with 27 competition categories’ including the Sciences, Humanities, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Business.

Each students can compete in UP TO THREE AREAS
·
Past ACT-SO participants include actors Anthony
Anderson and Jada Pinkett-Smith, film makes John Singleton and recording
artist Kanye West.
