Project SOS is holding it's first Leadership Internship, June 13th, 2011 - June 30th, 2011, at UNF, and it's absolutely free to the students selected. They are looking for 20 students who are great mentors, and role models for their peers.
The first week of camp will be centered on getting our attendees creative juices flowing. The attendees will be challenged to create a short skit that best exemplifies the positive message Project SOS endeavors to pour into middle and high schoolers on the first coast.
The second week will be spent in revamping the current Project SOS classroom and mentoring club presentation. The students will do research on the latest statistics involving bullying, drugs, alcohol, teen sex, suicide, self-abuse and violence. They will give our classroom instructors ideas on how to make our program even more relevant to middle and high school students.
The third week will be spent preparing for a youth rally that will take place at Murray Hill Theater the evening of June 30th. This rally will spread our positive message to over 500 kids in a full-filled exciting atmosphere.
